Current Projects
Just give us a little bit of a summary of what quest projects you all are working on. Smile

I currently have two projects underway.

The first is a parody quest of sorts intended to sort of poke fun of many of the common things we find in ZC quests. I can't really say too much on this project, though. It's not very far along, but I have hopes for this quest for various reasons. Tongue

The second project I have is Tales of Zelda, a quest with a battle system similar to the Tales series. I'm hoping the game to be a huge game with an RPG-like story based on the Zelda world. The game will rely heavily on scripting, and I hope to pull off a ton of tricks into it. I have a concept demo of the battle system up on the database here:

Anyone else care to talk about their quest projects? Smile

RE: Current Projects
I've been working on a remake of Unification on and off. I'm trying to stay as close to a typical 9 dungeon quest as I can, though I will probably "modernize" a few details. I'm also using a quest making style I've never used before: making the entire overworld before even starting on the dungeons.

RE: Current Projects
I really really want to start questing.. but I'm afraid ... I'll need some tips and pointers on the program again. (Yes, I'm a developer, but writing code to do menu functions and such, and handling video modes, is a lot different than questing itself.)

RE: Current Projects
Well, Tak, a Developer who quests simply knows what needs to be done. Tongue Better to learn without help to see from a newbie's point of view, to know how they think.

I'm currently deciding on what project I want to undertake at all. I'm currently developing a WoW server, which is fairly time consuming, considering that the tools we use aren't nearly as friendly as ZC's are. I'm deciding between a few things right now:
  • A Fallout Tileset. I'm a very big Fallout fan. I've already got it all plotted out in my head. I just need the time and inspiration to draw EVERYTHING. ... Good god. There's also the sound effects which I'd be including. I can actually just rip everything from Fallout 1 and/or 2 itself, but most of those sounds are combo'd with other sounds, or are just gunshots or tiny gasps.
  • For about two years now, I've had a quest on the burner called "Requiem." Basically, it opens up with Link Storming Ganon's castle for one of those grand finale quest moments, but he doesn't make it. He dies. Zelda gets captured and used for her triforce powers, and the land gets all warped and wavy as it usually does. Link has to travel between being a physical person in the land of the dead, and a ghost in the land of the living. His actions in one will affect the other. It's sort of like Oracle of Seasons or Ages in that respect, (More like Ages.) But damn if that won't be hard to do. >_o'
  • Had a quest called "Wish" a long time ago, back in my Sophomore year of College. (Just three years ago? Okay.) It was very whimsical and based on fantasy, but in the "Quaint" and fantasy-based. Everyone has a certain amount of magical ability, and they act as if this was nothing. Everyone is peaceful and polite, and there's no racism at all. All graphics were custom, sort of, as well as the plot.
  • I still have a whole mess of quests I need to do from the old ages. ... Damn. I'll never finish them if I start work now and don't stop until I'm 100.

RE: Current Projects
I'm working on Peril of Rectangle Country. It started out with me discovering that the EZGBZ set had the original GB colors, so I made a few screens in sepia tone for lulz, and it later evolved into a full quest. The quest is supposed to capture the feel of the GB Zelda games, along with being funny. It's probably the least serious quest anybody has started so far, the most serious a string gets is when you pick up an item, probably.

There's more info there if anybody cares.

RE: Current Projects
The only current major item I'm working on in ZC off and on is a simple quest in the 2.11 betas.

Latest demo can be found at http://www.sephiroth.ws/ZC/MQ/LoZ-MQ-Demo2.qst and should only be played in 2.11 build 887.

RE: Current Projects
Shads, that's a GREAT idea. XD Test it from a newbies POV. Tongue

I mean I test features all the time, laying down some tiles, checking flags, save points, et cetera. Music,, and what not, but never making a real quest worthy of playing. I kind of fail at that. XD

RE: Current Projects
I'm working on a few games. Right now, I'm making the dungeons for Joe123's A Key to the Heavens, and that's going along great!

But my biggest project is "The Hylian Phoenix", which takes place between OoT and TP/WW. It's VERY storydriven, and it'll be the darkes Zelda game you'll ever play. Hehe.
I also focus a lot on graphics, so its sure to look good too.
Here's a linkg to my QPF, if anyone's interested to take a closer look:

The demo link in that thread is outdated, I think...
Just in case, use this:

Now, Josh, that idea of yours... "Requiem"... that's an AWESOME idea! I can't wait to see some more of it!

RE: Current Projects
My main project is A Key to the Heavens. I'm making the overworlds =P

I'm also working on about a million other things, most of which I've forgotten...
My attention span is terrible for zelda classic. If I look back through my ZC folder, there are at least 6 or 7 half-made projects =/
I'm making a small GB tileset quest currently though.

RE: Current Projects
Ah, good thread idea.

Let´s sum ´em up then:
  • Nargad's Trail: Argon's Evil Lair is my main project, it's being made with CastChaos. I make the overworlds and he makes the dungeons, that's the idea. We try to combine our strong points to make a very good quest, or at least, we hope it becomes like that. It's made in DoR 2.0 with many enhancements.
Here is a thread at PZC with more information.
  • Nargad's Trail: The Doomed Kingdom is a smaller sideproject. I make it on my own with the Mac et Blue tileset, which is made by CastChaos. The main character is actually a villain, so that makes things more fun.
And just read this if you want some more info.
  • Ballad of a Bloodline DX. You probably know Ballad of a Bloodline itself... Right? Anyway, I'm making the Deluxe version of it, but the original author is CastChaos. I'm working on it currently.
    Again, here is a thread.
Seems like all my quests/project are related to CastChaos... which is a good thing.
