Welcome to Zelda Classic Realm. Potential members should acquaint themselves with this topic before attempting to register.
![]() Unlike typical Zelda Classic communities, our rules are somewhat different (they are somewhat inspired by Sonic Retro, to be honest). Rather than enforcing a large quantity of rules in extremely strict manners, we are enforcing a much smaller number of rules with our own judgment. This means that there will be a somewhat more casual atmosphere for the overall forum, but we will not be putting up with BS. The above is not meant to scare off potential members. So long as you show some form of intelligence, we will attempt to be fair. We are reasonable people, after all. Still, we will not accept BS. Don't try it. ((Forum Rules)) 1. Idiocy is not welcome. This is our largest departure from other Zelda Classic communities. In simple terms, we will not be putting up with idiots. If you do not know the English language well enough to express coherent thoughts, go somewhere else. If you cannot understand these rules, leave now. If you do not have common sense, get lost. This can be considered the common sense rule. If it doesn't seem like you should do it, don't do it! 2. SPAM tastes terrible. This could be considered an extension of the idiocy rule. SPAM can be considered Stupid Pointless Annoying Messages, which seems fairly accurate. If your post has no substance, it will be considered spam. If your post does not contribute to the topic in a thoughtful manner, it will be considered spam. In other words, "I agree." with no additional thought is spam. Additionally, you can double post... so long as it is not spam. It's not difficult to tell if you are grasping for sticks just to keep a topic afloat. 3. Do not harass other members. Even though we have low tolerance for idiots, we also have low tolerance for dicks. While there are no solid rules against flaming, if you go out of your way to be a dick about it, we will not accept it. Your flaming must have a valid reason behind it. HELPFUL NOTE: Flaming rarely has a valid reason behind it. Also note that this is not the same as trolling rules on other message boards. If someone is truly being an idiot, they probably will be ridiculed lightly if it is a good reason. We will not baby people, but we will not walk all over them either. 4. Don't start irrelevant debates. We will not tolerate debates about religions and other such things. We really don't care. This is a video game community. There is no valid reason for such debates to exist in this community. 5. If you must bitch about something, do it in moderation. This seems somewhat insensitive, but it is only the truth. Excessive amounts of bitching related to your life, your interactions on this forum, your interactions on other forums, and whatever is not wanted here. By excessive, this means you purposely draw it out needlessly as a cry for attention rather than getting something off of your chest. If you wish to complain about how this site operates, please use Questions and Suggestions. We will try to be reasonable, but note we still have the final say in all policies. Finally, don't get worked up over little things. Getting worked up over things such as jokes or the content of someone's signature or avatar is just stupid. In other words, don't get your panties into a bunch. 6. There is to be only one account per member. If we find a member with more than one account, both accounts will be banned. If you have people that use the same internet connection as you that wish to register, you must notify us by PM ahead of time and await our permission. Failure to do so will result in the second account being treated as a duplicate. Additionally, if one of the accounts breaks the rules in a manner to necessitate a ban, both accounts will be held responsible and banned. 7. You are responsible for people that you "invite." By invitation, we mean that you officially requested that said member could bypass the trial member period on good faith (more on this in the trial member topic). If a person you have invited breaks the rules within three months of the invitation in a manner that requires banning, both that person and yourself will be banned. This is to show that invitation is not to be taken lightly. You must truly trust anyone you recommend to bypass trial member status. 8. Do not Rent-a-Mod. This one is easy enough. If you are not a staff member, do not pretend that you are. If there is a problem with a topic, do not assume the action that will be taken upon it as if you were a moderator. If we need moderators, we will contact you. If you bug us about being one, we won't consider you. 9. Keep things safe for work. Zelda Classic category and Site and Forums category: All posts and topics should be safe for work. The only exception is quests that actually feature such content, in which the statement below applies. We will be particularly strict with this. Everything else: Basically, you should keep posts and topics safe for viewing at a work environment unless you provide a warning. This warning must consist of a notice in the topic title if it is a topic and proper usage of NSFW spoiler tags if it is within an existing topic. Code:
This is an example of NSFW spoiler tags.
NSFW (Click to View) Do not relay messages from banned members or unvalidated members. We banned or left them unvalidated for a reason. 11. Do not post copyrighted or illegal material. This is a fairly standard rule. Do not post links to copyright material such as music, games, ROMs, etc. Also do not post links to pornography. ((Staff Action)) In most cases, members will be warned in the topic if they are violating any rules. In some cases, we will warn a member via private message. These warnings should be followed. Otherwise, there is a great chance that we will move on to punishment if your behavior does not improve. The most severe punishment for breaking rules is a ban. Bans will be given on a case-to-case basis pending discussion between the staff. There is no set number of offenses (or strikes) that will make one eligible for a ban, but we will generally not ban on the first offense in most (but not all) cases. |
