Favorite Quests
I was just wondering what all of your favorite quests to play are.
Who made them? Why do you like them so much? Have you used any of their ideas in your quests or used them as inspiration for making your own quests?

RE: Favorite Quests
While I don't make quests, I have played plenty of them to know what I like most.
Almost anything from DarkFlameWolf, Peteo, and Mr. Z I consider to be of high quality, including some of theirs from years ago during much simpler times. While Shoelace has only completed one quest so far, I would assume that anything by him in the future would also be excellent, whether it is Eye of the Moon or anything else. If I had to choose one quest to be my absolute favorite, it would be Lost Isle. Some other close favorites are Hidden Duality DC, Isle of the Winds, Hero of Dreams, Link's Birthday DX, Power of Geduina, and Tao of Link. - Rashness by itself cannot be said to be courage. It is also necessary to have the ability to listen to others. - An unknown voice in Dragon Warrior III - Heaven is where the police are British, the chefs French, the mechanics German, the lovers Italian, and it is all organized by the Swiss. Hell is when the chefs are British, the mechanics French, the lovers Swiss, the police German, and it is all organized by the Italians. Support Health Care Reform |

RE: Favorite Quests
I have 2 favorite, finished quests, and one favorite WIP quest.
My favorite finished quests are Hidden Duality by DFW and Ballad of a Bloodline by CastChaos. Both are very good games, Hidden Duality has very good gameplay and such, as well does BB, but that one especially breaks the standards with the storyline. Then my favorite WIP quest is DoR by Radien. ![]() Nargad's Trail: the Doomed Kingdom Ballad of a Bloodline Deluxe And visit these websites: NTFlashSite BBFlashSite Note: Big files! |

RE: Favorite Quests
One of my favorite quests of all time , would have to be basically ALL of Mr.Z's quests.
Quest For Light right now, happens to be one my favorite zelda classic quests of all time from the older builds including Link's Birthday DX for 2.10. The reason why I didn't like isle of the winds or lost isle, was because most of time I was walking around aimlessly which I think is soo annoying to the point where I'll say " ok, I'm going to stop playing this". The Legend of Zelda: The Fort Knights was the first quest that inspired me to create a quest in the GB tileset , thus giving me tips on Screen Design, using scripts , also the learning of freeform combos, and making your own custom items. So yeah, basically I owe a lot to Joe123 of what I know and am now ![]() -Quest for Light -Link's Birthday DX and The Fort Knights. are my favorite quests I'll never forget and will owe a lot to in the mere future of what I call my "zelda classic career"

RE: Favorite Quests
Some of my Favorites are Hidden Duality DC by DFW, because it's just an awesome quest. It's the quest that hooked me into ZC. Link's Birthday (Not DX) but the original by Mr. Z is very good. The overall story was just simple, yet interesting. Origin by DFW is another good one. But, I also liked Link's Nightmare by Exate. I tested it, and even after finishing up the testing, I enjoyed it after the release. Also his MTPP, can't remember what the TPP stood for though, was excellent. There are just so many quests that I really really enjoy, too many to list at one time.
I'll have to make an official list for quests I've played, liked, loved! Yeah, I think I'll do that.

Christian Wrote:The reason why I didn't like isle of the winds or lost isle, was because most of time I was walking around aimlessly which I think is soo annoying to the point where I'll say " ok, I'm going to stop playing this". Goes to show that what people enjoy in a quest can differ a lot. I actually love those quests for the same reasons you don't enjoy them. I love to wander around aimlessly in a vast overworld. I don't feel the pressure to always have to get something done, such as pick up a particular item or a triforce piece. I like to occasionally explore for no particular reason other than to catch surprises and to look forward to anything I discover along the way. And if I am playing the quest again, I like to see what I can do when approaching the quest in a different way than I did the previous time around. There is more room for that whenever a quest isn't perfectly linear. - Rashness by itself cannot be said to be courage. RE: Favorite Quests
Link to Tortuga, by Freedom has always been my favorite. The thing I like most is the atmosphere, it had such a...swashbuckling piratey adventure feeling to it. I've always loved pirates, and that kind of mood so I feel in love with it. It wasn't the best gameplay, but the main things I cared about (design, mood, music, and colors) were all great in my mind.

RE: Favorite Quests
If someone made a straight-up exploration based game, that'd be really neat, and probably be my favorite.
I actually don't play quests. A lot of them just don't feel right to me. Like, they don't have that air that makes you want to play and play until you find out whats really going on. Its hard to explain what it is that ZC games are missing, but there is something that isn't there. I still randomly use ZQ on and off, and am patiently waiting for 2.5, in the mean time, I'm waiting for DOR to come out. DOR is one of the games that holds some promise for holding the lost "something" that I so desperately crave in a Zelda game, fan-game or otherwise. |

RE: Favorite Quests
This is it for me.
~ Trinity Worlds- Man, this quest sticks out and is the best original compilation I have ever played. The feelin git had, just was diffrent from everyone ealses quest. ~ Dark Link's Temple Tour- The quest that got me hooked to ZC. This, had what I never seen done before, a great plot twist, and broke through the limits to me. Yeah, sure there are some minor errors. Still, I recomend playing it. ~ Link In Cestria- now this quest satisfied my ZC hunger. It was simple, yet solid built quest with no overuses in ZC and no extra fancy shmancy tricks to blind the quest players, just so it gets great ratings. The hero of dreams, I gave up at Wolfblin castle. I had enough. Sure, it had solid gameplay, but to me, I like darker quests, and the humor and Link talking like that, wasn't in my cup o' tea. Sorry fans, shoot me with Silver Arrow if you like, I have the triforce so....yeah. |
