Description
This quest started as a submission for Blaman's three week contest. However, I ended up being the only one who finished in time. Still, here it is, submitted by the deadline. Note: This quest was made in three weeks, so don't expect it to be too big.
Overview/Features: A full 6x8 overworld, subdivided into three regions. Ascend into the heavens and walk on top of the clouds! But be careful, the roads between them are nearly invisible! And you don't want to fall... Three full dungeons, each with a custom boss; plus one final mini-level with a complicated final boss. An interesting story that will keep you guessing until the end. Two endings! As you play the game, several questions should present themselves to you. How you answer them will decide how the game ends for you. Secrets everywhere! Exploration is a good thing; look carefully, and you never know what you'll find. You start with the raft, boomerang, bow and arrow, and four bombs, plus the sword. No need rushing into things unarmed. Tons of scripts, for your gameplay pleasure. Beautiful use of the Pure tileset, if I do say so myself. And much more! Story: A horrible evil. An ancient race. An unimaginable power. All Link wants to do is return home. But fate has other plans for him. Caught in a terrible storm, he's forced to seek shelter on a tiny, mountainous island. What he finds there is a disturbing site. A hooded figure, who has gathered all the island's inhabitants together, gives them an ultimatum. Leave the island within three day, or be destroyed. The people have no way of leaving, and it looks like they have nothing to do but wait for death. However, there is a ray of hope. Legend talks of the power to repel evil being hidden in their very own village. And, as Link searches, he finds a mysterious fairy-thing named Lux. He tells Link of the Light of the Heavens, a glorious light capable of defeating the evil. And so, Link sets out to find this light, supposedly hidden somewhere on the island. But several questions emerge. Who is this evil person, and why does he want to have this little island? Who is Lux, and why does he know so much about the Light of the Heavens. And most important of all, what is the Light of the Heavens? How you decide to answer these questions will determine how the game ends for you. Credits: Blaman, for announcing the competition that got this started. Wild Bill, for the Pure tileset. Alestance, for drawing some of the boss tiles. Spriter's Resource, for some of the other boss tiles. VGMusic, Sir Johnamus, Purplemandown, and Dan Furst for the music. Daemon, who (probably unknowingly) gave me a few ideas. My good friend (prefers to be unnamed) for support and beta testing. My parents, who let me work in front of a computer hours a day for three weeks straight without grounding me. Nintendo, for coming up with the Zelda franchise in the first place. And of course, me, for making it.
